Some Really Cool Stuff I've Found...

I am surf crazy! But, in over 8 years on the net, I've found some really cool stuff for teachers - and everything listed here is FREE. Long gone are the days of overloading your home computer memory with scores of teaching assistance software and spending hours after school preparing for class. Here are some tools you can use - right now - to make your lesson preparation much easier and less time consuming! Enjoy!

Activities for ESL Students - Online vocabulary development for students of all abilities and grade levels. Addresses 29 different languages!

Blue Letter Bible.com - a multitude of resources - providing scripture searches by keyword, several translations, commentaries, maps, and tools you can use on your own website.

Discovery School - Puzzlemaker, Quiz Maker, Lesson Plan Storage, Clip Art Gallery, and Worksheet creator (that even scores the tests for you!)- all in one great place.

Easy Test Maker - Easy Test Maker is a FREE online test generator to help you create your tests. With Easy Test Maker you can create multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, short answer and true and false questions all on the same test. You can also insert instructions and divide your test into multiple sections.

Filamentality - (For WebQuests!)Filamentality is a fill-in-the-blank tool that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet links, and turning them into learning activities. It combines the "filament" of the Web with a learner's "mentality". Support is built-in through Mentality Tips that guide you along the way. In the end, you'll create a Web-based activity you can share with others even if you don't know anything about HTML, Web servers, or all that www-dot stuff.

Free Translation - FreeTranslation allows users to obtain free translations of both text and web pages. I have used this in my own classroom to communicate with many of my ELL students.

Learners Online - Each week, Learners Online publishes a new online lesson that takes learners on a thematic journey across cyberspace. Lessons are tied to current events and help learners extend their knowledge on a wide range of topics.

Noodle Tools - NoodleTools is a suite of interactive tools designed to aid students and professionals with their online research. From selecting a search engine and finding some relevant sources, to citing those sources in MLA or APA style, NoodleTools makes online research easier!

Vocabulary University - Create vocabulary activities, quizzes, puzzles, worksheets, etc. online!
